SafeASIN

(Overview)

A compliance-risk monitoring workflow for Amazon sellers in maternal and infant product categories. The project explored early warnings and source context, then tested whether that pain could support practical customer acquisition.

(Context)

A safety or recall notice may appear outside Seller Central and may describe a product by brand, model or keywords instead of an exact ASIN. SafeASIN was designed to scan relevant US public sources regularly and compare those records with the catalogue a seller actually manages.

(Question)

How can an Amazon seller hear about a relevant product risk early enough to respond carefully?

(Approach)

The product starts with an uploaded ASIN list. Scheduled scans compare product identifiers and keywords with safety and recall records. A possible match keeps the original source and matching context attached, so the seller can review it before taking action.

(Interaction)

When a relevant signal appears, SafeASIN sends an email warning rather than waiting for the seller to discover the issue manually. If a listing is later removed, the seller can provide the case details and use AI to prepare a tailored appeal email for review and editing.

(Decision)

Real pain does not automatically mean efficient customer acquisition. Validate the cost of explaining the problem before expanding the product.
